1998 Mitsubishi Pajero Mini Duke 4WD – 77,777 km 1998 Mitsubishi Pajero Mini Duke imported from Japan. This is a right-hand-drive, 4WD example equipped with the naturally aspirated 659cc engine and automatic transmission. The odometer currently shows 77,777 km. The vehicle presents very well for its age, with clean, age-appropriate original paint, distinctive Duke trim, and a very nice interior. The original upholstery is in good condition underneath the removable seat covers. The only notable wear is a small tear on the lower driver’s-side seat bolster. The engine was rebuilt at approximately 76,000 km due to excessive smoking. The rebuild included replacement of internal gaskets and seals, new piston rings, cylinder honing, cylinder-head machining, new valves and valve seals, a new water pump, new timing belt and associated components, and new external gaskets. New engine mounts were also installed. The engine is currently dry with no external leaks. All fluids have been recently serviced, including the engine oil, transmission, transfer case, and differentials. The vehicle is in very good overall mechanical condition. The selectable 4WD system operates properly in 2WD, 4-High, and 4-Low. The transmission shifts as it should, the brakes work well, and there are no unusual clunks, rattles, or squeaks. The Pajero is fitted with new American Racing black aluminum wheels and Toyo Open Country A/T tires. The air conditioning blows cold and the heater works properly. The lights, wipers, and other basic electrical functions are working as they should. Additional off-road lighting is installed and controlled by a dedicated switch, along with the original Mitsubishi front fog lights. The interior also features an aftermarket Bluetooth stereo and new door speakers. Additional exterior equipment includes the factory front brush guard, auxiliary driving lights, LED light bars, Mitsubishi window visors, roof rails, rear spoiler, and rear-mounted spare tire. The body is very clean for a nearly 30-year-old Japanese import, with only minor cosmetic wear consistent with age. No significant rust. The interior is similarly well preserved, including the dash, controls, door panels, carpeting, and original seat fabrics. These first-generation Pajero Minis are compact Japanese-market 4x4s with a lot of character in a very small package. The Duke trim is particularly distinctive and gives this example a different appearance from the more commonly seen XR and VR models. It would make a great weekend vehicle, beach or trail rig, mail jeep,collector JDM, or simply something different to drive. Full transparency these are the only items aw say are needing attention. Paint is original and needs polished. Trim could be coated with fresh satin black. Glove box latch does not work. Hood release cable works but knob is missing. Driver's floor mat is worn. Driver's seat is worn. Exhaust is DIY and could be improved. I would say the max speed on this truck is 65 mph. And it takes a while to get there. This motor is fresh and strong but keep in mind it is .6 of a liter. It's a tiny motor and a tiny truck so it's best suited for City use or off-road use.
