Description

Description

This is a 5-speed manual, 1996 Suzuki Cappuccino -- a convertible (targa top) with a K6A (2nd gen) engine. I am the third owner of the car where I purchased it in Fall 2022. Based on my documentation, the first and original owner had the car for 26 years (1996 to April 2022) before selling it to the 2nd owner, who owned the car 6 months before my acquisition.

The car had the engine rebuilt plus performance upgrades in Spring 2015 in Kawaguchi (30 minutes North of Tokyo) by Cosmic Garage. Along with other upgrades, including the official Monster turbo kit by Suzuki, Monster N1 ECU by Suzuki (priceless in 2023), HKS EVC-S boost controller, and clutch disc -- worth about $10k USD upgrades were introduced and documented. Spare wheel, tool kit, targa top (and the bags), seats, steering wheel are preserved and original. A/C blows cold. No head unit (CD player) as it presumably was upgraded at one point and later removed by the previous owner prior to my purchase -- a common (cheap) practice by Japanese owners based on my observation. More goodies available with the car including boss kit (standard and short). No modification was made under/during my ownership.

The car needs some body work due to surface rust, but the car runs great said by anyone who drove this car (including both the exporter and the importer). It is a great, fun car to drive as the turbo also kicks in at ~5,000 rpm (red line 8,500 rpm). It is a great touge car to run on back roads as a rear-wheel drive, as well as a great commuter (42-50 mpg).

The car is currently registered with Vermont (which doesn't issue car titles for older cars). A Bill of sale and a transfer of ownership form at the back of the car registration will be used to legally transfer the ownership to the new owner. New car owner can then get titled or register their car outside of CA.

Happy to provide any documents that I have (though they should already be attached here). Price is negotiable.

Paint and exterior

Car comes with the original red color from Suzuki. There is some surface rust near the trunk and near the targa top. A small amount of paint was stripped during a recent car wash at the fender/front panel. Car wheels can have a deeper cleaning to restore their shine.

Upholstery and interior

Most things in the interior are original (except the addition of Defi Racer Turbo boost gauge by the first owner during the upgrade in 2015). Dashboard leather has a crack -- presumably the first owner had something with adhesive installed at that location (and was removed [and damaged]) prior to selling to the 2nd owner. Seat bolster on the driver side has some cracks / breaks due to wear and tear of 27 years.

Mileage

Engine rebuild and modified at 138,974 km. The current odometer shows 17,625 km. Safe to say TMU.

Transmission

5-speed manual with clutch plate assembly replaced in Spring 2015.
