1996 Toyota LiteAce 1-Ton Truck – 2Y 1.8L, 5-Speed Column Manual, RWD, Ultra Low Mileage The 1996 Toyota LiteAce 1-Ton Truck is a rare heavy-duty version of Toyota’s compact work truck lineup. Unlike the more common TownAce models typically seen in the U.S. with 750 kg payload capacity, this is the true 1-ton version with increased load capability and a different configuration. This truck is powered by Toyota’s highly reliable 2Y 1.8L carbureted engine. Unlike many engines of its era, the 2Y uses a timing chain instead of a timing belt, reducing long-term maintenance requirements. This engine platform was widely used in Toyota vehicles and industrial equipment, including forklifts, making parts availability in the United States very good. With only 37,614 km (23,370 miles), this is an exceptionally low-mileage example. During service, we inspected the engine internally and were impressed by its cleanliness and condition. The carburetor has been professionally tuned, oil changed, belts replaced, valve cover replaced, and the A/C system checked. The truck drives smoothly, runs quietly, and is extremely fuel efficient. We personally drove this vehicle over 1,000 km as part of our testing process. All vehicles we sell are road-tested and used regularly to ensure reliability before delivery. One of the most important upgrades is the wheel and tire conversion. Originally, these trucks used non-DOT 12.5 wheels that are difficult to source in the U.S. This truck has been professionally converted to DOT-approved tires that are easy to replace anywhere in America while maintaining the proper ride height. The bed features fully drop-down sides on all three sides and measures 63 x 105 inches, providing excellent utility for work or hauling. The cabin offers seating for three passengers, with a center seat that converts into an armrest. The vehicle is completely rust free, fully serviced, and ready for immediate use.
