1998 Daihatsu Hijet 4WD – Compact Utility with Style and Strength

This 1998 Daihatsu Hijet 4WD is a perfect example of how simple engineering can still deliver big capability.
Finished in white with a body-color front bumper, a rare detail, it’s both rugged and charming in equal measure.

It runs a 660 cc 3-cylinder engine with a 5-speed manual transmission and selectable 4WD (2H / 4H).
The truck drives tight and smooth, and has been fully serviced, including a new battery, new Dunlop tires, and complete inspection.

We applied Raptor coating to the bed and rear rack, not due to any rust (the bed was spotless) but as a fun project to test the texture and durability. The finish came out great, protecting the bed while giving the truck a tougher, more modern appearance.

Inside, the cabin remains clean and functional, with a working A/C and even a dashboard cup holder, which is a small but rare feature on these older Hijets.
The 35 % window tint (the maximum legal limit in Florida) on the side and rear windows keeps the cabin cool in the Florida sun and adds a subtle aesthetic touch.

Mileage shows 124 510 km (≈ 77 350 mi), and the truck is rust-free, both underneath and in the bed.
It’s compact, easy to maintain, and a great all-rounder — whether for property work, beach runs, or daily use.
