Toyota’s prime entry into the 1994 Group A rally cross forged what would become one of the most iconic rally cars to come from the 90’s. With a lasting impression worldwide and creating a beloved platform, the ST205 has rightfully earned its spot as one of the most legendary JDM cars from the golden era of Toyota. With a turbocharged 4 cylinder, no option for an automatic transmission, and equipped with Toyota’s proprietary AWD System dubbed the All-Trac, this fantastic cult classic coupe was born.
Underneath, the ST205 Celica GT-Four is a no-frills monster. A 3S-GTE sits up front and cranks 255 HP thanks to its combination of twin-entry turbo, water-to-air intercooler, and 2.0L of displacement. McPherson struts sit in all 4 corners and give the Celica a ride that’s perfect for all year round and all conditions. With no options for an automatic ever equipped from factory, all ST205’s provide a smooth shifting 5 speed manual that’s geared great for all types of driving. In this example, we have taken care of the most laborious of service work and installed a brand new clutch and refinished the OEM flywheel for an even better shifting experience.
Though it may be a thoroughbred rally car, Celica GT-Four still offers plenty of amenities that don’t take away from the driver experience and still allow for a laid-back cruiser. Cold AC, hot heat, Full speaker system, and with comfortable and bolstering front and rear seats, the ST205 is still an easy to live with daily driver. A rarity in the Celica, this example features a full sunroof and rear window shade.
Outside, this Celica has been refinished from the more commonly seen 202 Black to the subtle and refined 6M1 Dark Emerald Green Pearl most often found on Toyota’s line of luxury vehicles. With no visible dents, large scratches, or fading, this Celica is sure to be a showstopper. Aero and wheels also remain OEM and above the rear window, an OEM optioned visor adds to the Celica’s distinct silhouette.
With the discontinuation of any AWD options in the 7th generation Celica and with a hinted AWD Celica due to be coming to production sometime soon, the ST205 will likely see even more demand in the not to distant future.
