Small but mighty, the quirky Suzuki Jimny with its angular edges and straight lines has become one of the most iconic designs in the automotive community. Putting smiles on onlookers, drivers, and occupants, the Suzuki Jimny is a highly respected, off-road capable machine. Known domestically as the Suzuki Samurai, the “kei-jidōsha” restrictions made a big difference in what was offered in the turbocharged JDM 660cc model Jimny without sacrificing the idea of a tiny 4×4 that could go anywhere.

The exterior features a classy boxy look that off-road enthusiasts love, similar to the Jeep Wrangler, Mercedez-Benz G Wagon, Ford Bronco, or even the older Toyota Land Cruiser. Finished in Mercury Silver Metallic (1VN), the exterior shows in overall good condition with the exception of minor scuffs and scrapes around the body, not uncommon to see on vehicles heavily focused on outdoor exploration. Tagging onto exploration, this example has a few modifications that assist in any overlanding journey, such as the factory Suzuki Roof Rack, as well as the front yellow tint fog lights. Popular for many reasons, the JA22 was the second iteration with a more modern facelift that still embraced its retro styled roots.

Power is supplied by the 3 Cylinder K6A providing 63HP and 80 lb. ft of torque, and with weight of just 2,300 lbs, this motor is no slouch. Selectable 4WD offers drivers the ability to cruise in 2WD to maximize fuel economy or switch to 4WD to tackle rough terrain . Factory suspension has this vehicle sitting nice and high to allow for any overlanding desires. These Jimny’s K6A motor is also turbocharged like its Cappuccino counterpart, giving an additional punch in daily driving.

Almost everyone stateside seems to have a story they’ve told or been told about the Suzuki Samurai. It is one of the most understated 4×4’s that still kept up on the trails with the big kids, Toyota’s, Land Rovers, Jeeps, etc. And the JDM Jimny is no different, iconic looks and a smaller sized off road vehicle, but powered with its Cappuccino cousin’s heart, the turbocharged 660cc three cylinder still does it all and makes a great noise doing it. JDM Jimnys have an advantage over Domestic Samurais, less bulky and more agile, more creature comforts, better suspension and most importantly these JDM Jimnys are in much better condition than USDM Samurais.  One of the greatest 4X4s ever produced, this turbocharged Jimny punches well above it’s weight and offers a reliable drive every time.
