And this LN107 is our definition of what the holy grail of Hilux’s can be. With the ultra durable and dependable 3L Diesel Motor paired to a 5 speed manual transmission, Selectable High and Low Transfer Case modes, 4WD, solid rear axle, and Double Cab configuration, this Hilux ticks all boxes of a practical and dependable diesel legend.

The “3L” 2.8 Liter Naturally Aspirated Diesel motor is highly respected due to its time tested reliability. Although modest in HP, the 3L can easily outlast even the newest generation Toyota pickups. With numerous examples of the LN107 putting up more than a million KMs, it stands as a true testament to Toyota’s commitment to producing the most durable vehicles on the market. Mated to the 5 Speed manual transmission, this motor sends its power to either its rear wheels, or all 4 with the help of the selectable transfer case.

Outside, and even in the door jambs, the Garnet Pearl paint shines and shows no major imperfections aside from the drivers side which shows minor fading, a real sign that this was meticulously cared for by it’s previous owner. The OEM Rain Guards and Side Steps are in great condition, with no cracking or major blemishes present. Large OEM mud flaps are fitted in all four wheel wells and a rear roll bar sits in the bed to give this Hilux the iconic appearance that 90’s Toyota pickups are known for. The underside shows no rust whatsoever, which is quite a rarity on these models.

Equipped in the SSR trim, this Hilux is no slouch in amenities often not seen in other LN107’s. With full A/C, power windows, power locks, and power mirror adjustments, the only manual feature is the sought after 5 speed transmission. Sitting higher thanks to Rancho RS5000 shocks, and connecting to the ground, Toyo Open Country M/T tires ensure nearly every terrain, no matter how rugged, will be a breeze to cover.

It’s no secret that we’re a fan of the Hilux Pickup here, with infamy in all forms of media all over the world, it’s reputation has been well earned. Despite its utilitarian nature, the SSR trim of this Hilux adds some additional comfort and features, making it a balanced vehicle for both everyday and off-road driving. Practical, dependable, and iconic, this may very well be the last truck you’ll ever want, and likely ever need.
