The Toyota MR2 G Limited was the higher specification, naturally aspirated variant of Toyota’s popular mid engine sports car, the MR2. The G Limited was released exclusively in Japan, standard features include power steering, fog lamps, rear spoiler and power folding mirrors.

Externally, the MR2 G Limited features the distinctive body style that made the SW20 a fan favorite during it’s heyday in the nineties. The aggressive front bumper, rear spoiler, pop up headlights and T-Tops further accentuate this beautiful body style. The SW20 is often called the ‘Baby Ferrari’ due to it’s more rounded styling and similar design to the Ferrari 308/348. This example also features aftermarket alloy wheels finished in black, which further enhances this SW20s stylish look.

The interior of this example is almost entirely stock, with the exception of a weighted shift knob, even the original factory radio and cassette player has remained with this car. The seats and door cards have no rips or tears and the dash has no cracks. Suffice to say, the interior of this MR2 has held up very well over the years and it is refreshing to see a nice stock interior on this classic JDM sports car.

Under the hood, the G Limited is powered by a 2.0 liter four cylinder 3S-GE engine that produces 178 horsepower. The engine is mated to a five speed manual transmission as standard. The MR2 G Limited is also equipped with a number of performance upgrades, including stiffer suspension, larger front brakes, and a limited-slip differential. These enhancements make it more responsive and agile on the road, and helped it to earn a reputation as one of the best handling sports cars of its era. The MR2 G Limited is a prime example that you don’t need to have crazy power to make a car fun. The two liter fires right up every time without hesitation and the 5 speed manual transmission shifts comfortably through all 5 gears.

Overall, the Toyota MR2 G Limited is a unique and highly desirable version of Toyota’s popular mid engine sports car. Though it may be a non-turbo, it makes up for it with it’s top tier handling and responsiveness. The SW20 might be the most driver focused mid engine car of it’s era and this particular example is also equipped with T-Tops, which take summertime cruises to the next level of enjoyment. With just 37,353 original miles this is the lowest mileage SW20 we have imported to date. A remarkably low mileage example that will provide many years of enjoyment to it’s next owner.
